From the early days to the present

FROM THE EARLY DAYS TO THE PRESENT

The company was founded in the latter half of 1989 in premises located in Cerasolo Ausa (which at the time was in the province of Forlì). It had only 6 employees and the heritage of the Berardi patent for the industrialization of frames based on a “modular” concept. Thanks to a fast growth in economic turnover and company structure, Scrigno Spa earned overall profits of 8 million euro in 2003, a 20% increase on the previous year’s results.

In 1994, the company moved to its current premises in Sant’Ermete, in the municipality of Santarcangelo di Romagna in the province of Rimini. These new premises cover a total of 51,000 square metres, with 12,000 square metres of covered factory space and 1,200 square metres of office space.
Over the years, the product offer has grown considerably. Initially, the company only produced frames for concealed sliding doors but soon began to offer a variety of other accessories and frames for exteriors (sliding windows, shutters and grating). In late 1995, the company introduced door panels and gratings for sliding systems. Over the years, it has continued to design and offer new products (such as Scrigno Applauso, Armonico, Vario, Contatto, Granbelvedere, Accordo and Panoramico) and relevant accessories.

In 2001, the Scrigno product range expanded further, offering new solutions whose concept and design aimed to provide the public with increasingly innovative, quality solutions and new furnishing choices. These included Scrigno Essential, Orbitale, Velato, Belvelato and Arpeggio, as well as a range of swing doors available in the same finishes as the sliding doors.

Following the introduction of the “Unique” trade name in 2002, doors became an elegant and essential component of furnishing, loaded with emotional values thanks to lines such as Appeal, Lorica, Mind, Flyer and Wood.

Today, the company produces and markets thousands of variations on its standard products and continues to be a market leader in its sector. In spring 1999, Scrigno took another giant step forward thanks to a new advertising campaign on the Italian market, which featured in trade magazines and on television.

Since 1993, the SCRIGNO trade name has enjoyed increasing success on overseas markets, too. Total profits for 2003 amount to around 8 million euro - a 20% increase on 2002 - and overseas sales represented 22% of overall turnover for the same year.
