On the top floor of a rationalist building dating from the 1950s, Scrigno has adorned the spaces skilfully created by the architect Tomas Ghisellini, designer of a project with a contemporary and seamless feel. Two originally independent and overlapping levels are brought together in a harmonious fusion of rooms in the heart of Padua. The architect breathes life into a huge complex of volumes and shapes, a place where double-height ceilings, niches and surprise-spaces dialogue in a symphony of fullness and voids giving everything a sense of lightness.
In this context, Scrigno solutions revolutionise the world of loft living, where a lack of partitions and barriers guarantees maximum flexibility and the eyes are drawn seamlessly upwards, inviting visitors to let themselves be transported by shafts of light right up to the ceilings, which reveal glimpses of sky.
Fluidity, perceptive continuity and flexibility: these were the requests expressed by the client and Ghisellini responded to these exigencies from the design phase, thanks to Scrigno doors and frames. In this sense, Essential solutions were adopted in four critical points of the loft: frames host two large panels for the temporary division of living arrangements, whilst two doors were used for the practical areas of the larder and the bathroom on the second floor.
A surprisingly light staircase, which seems to have been created by folding the natural wood flooring, provides access to the upper floor and the captivating, Nordic-style studio-living space that overlooks the living area on one side and a terrace cut into the sloping roof on the other; the latter affording magnificent panoramic views thanks to a wall entirely of glass.
Combining elegance and discretion, the apartment’s doors become “sliding boundaries”, at the same time preserving the spatial uniformity characteristic of a loft. In the style of the spaces, the presence of elements that disappear completely into the walls are ultimately a great advantage, affording the rooms the permeability and transparency of an open space free from barriers, but capable of creating strategic divisions when required.
Architect and project manager Tomas Ghisellini declared: “Great attention to detail and the possibility to adopt non-standard solutions are the characteristics that led us to choose Scrigno, who we consider an extremely reliable partner that always guarantees excellent quality. In such an ambitious project in which we have reconfigured domestic environments, designing executive details of considerable formal, constructive and aesthetic significance, Scrigno solutions have allowed us to best satisfy the requirements of the client and create a living space that is contemporary, flexible and “out from the crowd.”
Francesco Bigoni, Marketing Director of Scrigno Holding S.p.A. stated: “We are proud to be part of this splendid project in which our solutions have been enhanced thanks to the extraordinary talent of the architect Tomas Ghisellini. In ‘Loft A’, our products match the uniqueness and excellent taste of the apartment, where details have a fundamental role and art and creativity become an element of both style and function, responding to the needs of those who live in it.”
